Welcome to Wild Ones Miami Valley Chapter!
We promote environmentally friendly, sound landscaping to preserve biodiversity through the preservation, restoration, and establishment of native plant communities across Ohio’s Miami Valley.
Wild Ones chapters are a space where like-minded people gather to support each other in learning about landscaping with native plants and to share with others in their communities and networks about why it’s important to reintroduce native plants into public and private gardens and how to go about doing it. Chapters are where change happens. We are excited to offer Miami Valley residents the opportunity to expand their impact in the natural landscaping movement and help promote native plants more widely through participation in the Miami Valley Seedling Chapter.

Upcoming Event: Butterfly Gardening 101, How to Support Ohio Wildlife With Your Garden
Butterfly Gardening 101: How to Support Ohio Wildlife With Your Garden will present the basics on how you can support the entire lifecycle of Ohio’s butterflies with your landscaping. More than just attracting butterflies to your yard, this workshop will help you learn how to identify invasive plants that don’t support Ohio wildlife and how to grow the butterfly population by choosing plants and practices that nurture them from egg to chrysalis.
In addition to an adult presentation, a simultaneous drop-in program on Butterflies for Kids in the downstairs lobby will make it easy for the whole family to get excited about springtime gardening.
This presentation is a collaboration between Wild Ones Miami Valley and Miami University students in the Campus Compact Envirocorps (CCEC) program (an Americorps program).
